Its time to announce the first of our Guest DJs for our late night X-mas shopping In-store next Thursday night. Over here for a short tour and all the way from Aukland New Zealand we have Frank Booker. Emerging from the shadows at the beginning of 2009, Frank Booker has seemingly come from nowhere to unleash a barrage of Disco fuelled bombs on unsuspecting dancefloors worldwide. First signed to boutique London record label, Untracked Recordings, Booker released the Brothers EP, featuring 3 choice cuts, swiftly marked him out as an emerging artist to watch, gathering record of the week at Piccadily Records UK, and also rocketing to the top of the sales charts on Juno Records. The follow up, Paper Cuts b/w Get On cemented his growing reputation and lead to remixes alongside Recloose for Latin Grammy winners Los Amigos Invisbles (Lovemonk Records, Spain), and Based on Kyoto (Japan). Franks records have been supported by scene heavyweights such as Ashley Beedle, Todd Terje, Mark E, Tim Sweeney (Beats in Space / DFA), The Revenge, and DJ Day amongst others. All of this brought the elusive Frank to the attention of Kenji Sakajiri, the A&R man for esteemed Japanese Record label, Wonderful Noise. Kenji signed Frank for a special limited edition Mix CD (Out on the Super Limited edition BlackBelt label), and a Double EP for Wonderful Noise, due in early 2011. The EPs feature remixes by Mark E (Jisco/Under The Shade), Kez YM (YORE) and Cosmic Boogie. Frank also co-hosts the highly acclaimed ‘Hit It & Quit It’ radio show alongside Recloose. Hosted every Monday night on George FM (Auckland, New Zealand), and consistently leading in ratings for the station, the show has become one of the station’s most popular. The pair also co-host a regular clubnight based on the radio show. Thus far, The Hit It & Quit It Revue has featured guest performances from the likes of the legendary Moodymann (Planet E), Dam Funk (Stones Throw), Kon (BBE), Trusme (Fat City), and DJ Day (Melting Pot). The revue also had the privilege of performing at the closing party of the 2010 Sydney Arts Festival. As a DJ, Franks music spans a wide array of quality dance music: From deepest Disco, to 80s boogie and quality modern house, as well as some super special re-edits all put together with a focus firmly on the dancers. youtu.be/bA0a6kDjyj8
