Its true we choose to turn our heads and ignore the reality of the meat industry. Weve all seen the frightful videos of mistreated, caged animals. There is one that almost succeeded in completely turning me vegan, for it showed how they cut off the heads of chickens in a factory, and they showed the failed ones; I viewed absolute mistreatment, cruelty, of Pigs and cows and yes I did for a long period stop eating pork or beef. I eat very little but I do what most of us do when buying meat; we see the slab under the wrapper as something good on the BQ...... This video reminded me of my promise to myself to cut out factory meats and to only buy meat occasionally when the label guarantees the animals are raised properly...organic feed, free range, etc. Much more expensive but if only eaten once or twice a week, its not so bad. There is a meat store on Commercial near Grant that owns their own farm and guarantees the meat there is only from their farm and all organic...just a little expensive.. Donalds market sells an organic whole chicken that is not too overpriced..... New west now has a health food store that sells organic meats and some odd ones like Bison. Well I think I just convinced myself to go back to eating less meat....How about you?
