Its unbelievable how warped perceptions become overtime just because we lose the importance of holding neutrality and knowledge over ignorance. When I have children and they ask me about Asian people, I will talk to them about discipline, modesty and honor, not over-population. When they ask me about Aboriginal people Im going to talk to them about Canadian culture, traditional hunting, camping and what it took to survive in Canada before electricity and gas lines - not reserves and tax breaks. If they ask me about a black person Im going to talk to them about the difference between Africa and Jamaica, and what it takes to get from a third world country to a first world - not crime or poor driving. I find that on an individual basis, people are good, regardless of where they come from. The biggest and most frequent mistake anyone can make is leading someone else to believe something no one has learned for themselves. Western culture is not free of primitive racism, ignorance, or propaganda and I hope in the next 50 years we embrace knowledge over altruism.
