Its very interesting when people expect you to be and act a certain way based solely on the color of your skin. I mean its just crazy. The funny thing is that sometimes I find myself doing the exact same thing. When will people finally treat and judge people by the content of their character and not how they look? I cant tell you how many times Ive been asked by people, where are you from, I know that most of the time its so they know how to treat me. I know they are wondering, is he black, is he Hispanic, is he some kind of Arabic Muslim or Pakistani? and why is that white girl with him? Well the looks I get, Im very used to them, and they dont hurt me, nor do the comments or stares. It doesnt surprise me at all, because lets face it we live in a country that was founded on racism and slavery and the stealing of others freedoms. We have a very long way to go FB friends. When will we stop putting ourselves into segregated sub-cultures and classifications. For those who are still interested in my nationality, I am AMERICAN, THE EPITOME OF WHAT ITS SUPPOSED TO MEAN. I am a melting pot of cultures. My bloodline consists of African-American, Native America (2 tribes), Irish, Scottish, Japanese, English, and German. So to all of those that want to judge me please judge me for ALL that I am, not just for what I appear to be. Judge me for the hundreds of people Ive helped from Natural Disasters, judge me for the dozens that Ive helped read, judge me for the dozens of Abuse victims that Ive helped over the years, judge me for the FREE Anti-Bullying campaigns I delivered to the dozens upon dozens of inner-city kids in LA, Judge me for the Homeless that Ive clothed and fed in the shelters of downtown Houston, judge me for the tens of thousands of dollars Ive donated to charitable organizations over the years. If you need to judge me, judge me for all of it, and not just my skin color, eye color, texture of hair, and who I happen to LOVE, KNOW me first, then judge me all you want. For those that still insist on prejudgement, I will say a prayer for you in hopes that you will one day love yourself enough to trust another based solely on the content of his character. I invite others to comment on this, I am very eager to know anyone elses thoughts on this type of prejudice and the mixing of races. I welcome your comments.
