It’s All About Jesus! I’ve noticed recently - in the past couple years - that quite a number of believers are speaking and echoing the words, Its all about Jesus!” There is absolutely no doubt that the works of Jesus are front and center in Scripture and that the work Jesus did is nearly unmeasurable in it’s magnitude and reach. To say, however, that, “It’s all about Jesus,” is not true. In fact, the very reason Jesus came to earth and did what He did in His suffering, death, and resurrection was to make a way for mankind to be reconciled to the Father. I think that we may have forgotten a bit about the heavenly Father and His great wisdom, love, worth, mercy, and power and may have slighted Him a bit in our personal lives. Perhaps because we have been so greatly emphasizing the work and worth of Jesus, we have neglected to notice and honor the works and worth of the Father. True believers should have a profound personal relationship with their heavenly Father. They should worship Him, honor Him, know Him, pray to Him, and speak with great thanks about all that He planned, all that He Has done, and all that He is doing! Let’s read just a few Scriptures from Paul’s epistle to the Ephesians and see how Paul acknowledged, worshipped, taught about, and prayed to the Father — how he gave the Father His rightful place. In Worship: Ephesians 1:3-6; 5:20 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved. Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Prayer: Ephesians 1:16-17; 3:14-15 I Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of Whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. In Teaching: Ephesians 4:4-6, 8 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith He loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. In Instruction: Ephesians 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children. Some of you might find it very enlightening to read through the epistles and note all the places where the writers refer to our Father God and His great wisdom, planning, love, mercy, grace, and power. After all, the work that our Savior did was to bring us back in relationship with our Father! We should give all honor and praise and glory and to Jesus for Who He is and what He has done. But we should also give all honor and praise and glory and thanks to our Father in heaven!
