It’s Fun & Rewarding to Volunteer at the Dragon Fyre Faire! Official Policy One volunteer “shift” equals $2 off your admission ticket Please exercise honor: If you sign up to do something please follow through or contact a DFF Admin if you can’t do it so we can find someone else. What is a volunteer “shift”? Here are some examples: 1. Supervise/teach a kids’ class/craft activity (about 1-2 hours) 2. Supervise/teach a kids’ outdoor game (about 2 hours) 3. Sell tickets & T-shirts at gate for a 2.5 hour shift (need to be good at counting money and making change)(need two to cover each shift) 4. Garbage & Shower Duty: empty full trashcans, check showers for cleanliness, ask merchants for garbage, pick up random trash (Time will vary to perform one round of checks & cleaning, maybe 1 hour-1 1/2) 5. Mermaid tender: Help mermaids with their needs, make sure they have water, food as needed, grab a partner to help lift & carry. (intermittent checks for half day) 6. Water Bearer: Haul water to fighting area & help fighters get water & snacks as needed, keep trash in its place, other tasks as requested in fighting arena area (2.5 hour shift) 7. Night Security: Stay up & cover the grounds, especially merchant booth area. Keep cell phone, flash light, and pepper spray. 8. Parking Manager: Make certain cars are arriving and parking in an orderly fashion. We will have contractor’s paint available that you could mark spaces if you’d like.
