It’s getting off to a bad start for the World Forum on Human Rights, the Moroccan power-élite-human-rights-advocates celebration. OnTuesday, Nassera du Tour, the President of the Euro-Mediterranean Federation against Enforced Disappearance, was obliged by the Moroccan customs agents-cum-police at the Marrakech airport to hand over absolutely innocuous documents. Why? Because Mrs. du Tour, an Algerian activist coming to attend the World Forum at the invitation of the Moroccan authorities (!) happened to have in her possession a map of Morocco, like all those published out of the kingdom, which shows, with a dotted line, the territorial separation between Morocco and Western Sahara. A horrible crime for the motley crew of so-called Moroccan patriots.
