Ive been a Christian for a long time, and I admit that I used to - TopicsExpress

Ive been a Christian for a long time, and I admit that I used to beat myself up whenever I made a mistake - and sometimes even run away from God. But over the years I have come to realize that I am no different from anyone else when it comes to matters of making mistakes in my Christian life - we all make mistakes. I have also experienced Gods amazing grace, His mercy and His forgiveness. From his letters, we know that the Apostle Paul battled the same enemies that we do - the flesh, the world, and Satan (Romans 7:14-25, 1 Corinthians 4:11-13, Ephesians 6:12). Even with his profound wisdom, and skill as an Apostle, missionary and statesman, Paul wasnt so different from you and me. He was not perfect, and he lost battles just as you and I sometimes do. But Paul also learned of Gods amazing grace and mercy, and he did not stay down. Paul relied, not so much on his own strength and faithfulness, but on Gods strength and faithfulness to get him through the hard times, and strengthen him when he was weak. We all make mistakes, and do wrong things from time to time. But instead of giving up and running away from God, run to God. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us of all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). God is faithful. His mercy, His grace, His forgiveness and love for us extends far beyond anything we can ever imagine. When you make a mistake, dont run away from God, run straight to God!
