Ive been a believer for over 27 years now. I havent figured it all out and dont believe anyone has. As my Grandmother always says have faith in what you know, and dont worry to much about what you dont know. But to me it seems that faith is something that is tested everyday and grace is needed when it fails. Out of the 27 years Ive been a believer in Jesus Christ. I cant think of one time I made it a whole year without falling to some short of temptation or lets just say committing a sin. If I think about it more I dont think Ive even made it a few months, or a just a month, nor a week without failing in someway. Now if we talk about just single days, yeah I can say that Ive made it a day or two without needing grace to cover me. But when that third day came, in some cases I needed buckets of the blood that washes you white as snow. I would like to meet the believer that makes it weeks, months, or years without sinning. Ive got a lot of question, mostly would be how do you pull it off? you must live in a cave! . Ive heard plenty say that the path of a believer should be to act like Christ and they always bring this up. Jesus said to go and sin no more . What does that mean? Is that a direct order? I just dont know. That would be extremely hard for me to pull of, never sinning again. The go and sin no more drum is beat to death and misinterpreted in my opinion. Is it something we should strive for, yes. But is it possible, well to me NO. What is possible is the understanding of a love that comes from acknowledging a Creator and the story of creation followed by the most important part. Which is the story of unconditional love that is Jesus Christ and what His death meant. Its with knowing him, that I do overcome temptation sometimes and its Him I need when I fail. Its a win win situation. To me the practice and promotion of the last sentence would lead more people to believe. Than the other routes Ive seen and participated in. I will add the cliché line none of us are perfect . I think of a man I knew who throughout his life did more for Christ than any of us could even come close to. But he left this world with a sin overshadowing all the good he did and the lives that he changed. He pretty much left as an outcast because of a bad choice or in other words falling to temptation. He knew his actions were wrong and sought forgiveness from his peers, but pretty much left this world as an outcast. Out casted by family, friends, and a bunch of believers in unconditional love. WOW!!! Now go and sin no more... Good luck with that. :) P.S Shoot me a message if you got it all figured out.
