Ive been growing increasingly uncomfortable with the use of quantum physics to support spiritual ideas. Not because I disagree with the spiritual aspect, but because it so often depends an ill-informed pop version of quantum physics. Im often inclined to agree with the spiritual/metaphysical points of view people are trying to reinforce by pointing to quantum physics, but pointing to inaccurate pop quantum thought to make their case just makes it weaker. I went poking around to see what I could find about how it is being misused. Heres what feels like a good basic overview of some of the popular quantum myths (its a discussion board, so scroll to the bottom for the beginning). It descends into the predictable squabble, so ignore that.
