Ive been in the Hospital since March 31st. Went to the VA to meet - TopicsExpress

Ive been in the Hospital since March 31st. Went to the VA to meet with a Nutritionists and found myself falling-over in the office. They admitted me for having a completely shut-down Immune-System (head-to-toe infections) and being extremely Undernourished/Dehydrated......guess I didnt take care of myself as well as I thought I was. Now, they wont release me until I have a Stomach-Tube inserted (looks like surgery will be tomorrow or Monday). Turns-out my throat/mouth swallower isnt working like it should, causing me to choke or have food/liquids try to go down my windpipe (recent chemos done further damage from my first Radiation Treatments years ago). Now, will be under direct supervision/oversight by a couple VA Departments and will be wearing a stomach-line to insure Im getting the nourishment I need to survive and prosper (fun, huh). That tube plus my being aware and careful of what I eat will turn this around; and, I have a good chance at getting much of my normal eating/swallowing abilities back in time. Anyway, it is what it is AND Im absolutely Bored, look like a pin-cushion with all the IVs theyve got in me (all Antibiotics and Liquid Nutrients) since they havent let me eat or drink anything since the 31st........afraid Ill choke or stuff will go into my lungs......SO, stomach-tube, proper future maintenance/controls for awhile with the ultimate objective of getting my strength back and returning to normalcy on down the road. Hopefully, Ill be out of here by Monday if all goes well.
