Ive been loading for my AR for a while now. Been using only 55 gr bullets. Assorted brands and styles. I picked up some sierra 69gr hp-bt match bullets a couple weeks back and have just this weekend built my ladder loads. While doing so i was thinking about making some single shot loads to try and get the ogive .020 off the lands to see how much that improves accuracy. 16, 1-7 twist. 5.56/223 AR. Obviously i can only feed 2.260 oal from the mag, which depending on the bullet, leaves me about .050-.080 off the lands. I shouldnt have problems hand feeding a round that measures 2.310-2.340 should i? Im thinking ill make a dummy round and try and hand feed it.
