Ive been quiet during this election. Admittedly its been difficult!! ESP since mud has been thrown at my family from the different Sheriffs candidates camps! Yes its no secret that my husband is campaigning hard for his best friend of many years!! I on the other hand tend to steer away from politics - Ive seen the ugly sides of it & the throat cutting tactics before!! As this election draws towards the end,I see the mud slinging getting worse & allegations getting so far fetched!! Tempers are flaring and candidates are getting desperate!! I see people posting stuff about their candidates & in reality they dont have a clue about the person they are supporting!!! They just heard he was a good man! I have known 3 of the candidates for sheriff for many years either on a personal level or a professional level! All 3 are pretty good guys! None of them are perfect! But when it comes down to it theres only one that I REALLY know! When I say really know I mean that I know what matters to him! Ive seen him cry over things that have happened in his life that hurt him more than words could ever explain! Ive seen him laugh with friends & not hesitate for a second to come to the aid of any of them! Many years ago I watched him as a father carrying his babies around! Later in life, I watched him carry my babies around in his arms! Now I watch his face light up when he sees his grand babies! Ive seen his dedication to his wife & the excitement in his eyes when hes gotten her something shes always wanted! Ive seen the anger he feels when a child is harmed! Ive worked with him for almost 11 years at our business!! I remember that he was one of the first to be at Kevins side when Shannon died! Ive seen his passion for justice & for the underdog to get a fair chance!! Ive had in -depth conversations about life & salvation & family & friends! Theres only one of them that I would call in the middle of the night & know without a doubt that he would come!! Theres only one candidate for sheriff that I can say I really know! Please KNOW who you are voting for in this upcoming election! There have been many lies spread about different candidates!!! Some candidates have been made to look foolish when in all actuality they really know a lot of things that the citizens of Columbus County need to know!!! SOME CANDIDATES HAVE SAID NOTHING AT ALL BUT THEY HAVE HAD PEOPLE IN THEIR CAMPS TO SPREAD VICIOUS LIES ABOUT OTHER CANDIDATES!! Some candidates have supporters tearing down other candidates signs!! Some candidates have the machine paying folks to vote! I dont have to call the names of these people out because IF YOU REALLY KNOW YOUR CANDIDATE THEN YOU ALREADY KNOW WHO THEY REALLY ARE AND WHAT THEYVE BEEN DOING!!! I KNOW the man I will vote for!!! Do you? More important than anything else, if you have a true relationship with The Lord, then pray for the will of God to be done in this Sheriffs race, whoever the Sheriff may be!!!
