Ive been studying/researching Stoicism for about 3 years now, off - TopicsExpress

Ive been studying/researching Stoicism for about 3 years now, off and on. The very first book I ever read on it was called A Guide to the Good Life, which I read on a trip to Costa Rica with Emily and Rj Smith IV. I decided to re-read this book the other day, and last night came across this piece of text: Apollonius taught him, with unaltered composure, to withstand sickness and pain, and in particular how to withstand the mental anguish he later experienced on losing a son. I had HIGHLIGHTED this exact passage in the book. 3 years ago. Needless to say I was blown away when I came across it again, 3 years later, 8 months after my son passed away. I have no clue why I decided to highlight that text 3 years ago, but Im glad I decided to pick this book back up. The world works in crazy ways.
