Ive been thinking. One of the issues FBAC has is not being able to get a vet to donate their time to the shelter for basic care. Personally - I think FBC vets should be embarrassed as hell about that.... but thats just me. Anyways - Im sure you folks in rescue know the vets around here better than I do --- Do you think they would be favorable to donating their services on a rotating schedule? Ft. Bend County is big... from Katy to Fresno to Needville to Sugarland..... and there are a LOT of vet offices & most have several vets on staff... and then there are the vet techs on top of that. If everybody hopped on board - hell, if HALF would commit to it... sending one vet or vet tech out per week (for example), each individual would probably only have to give up one day of their lives every 4-6 months. If theyre not willing - and might I even venture to say HAPPY to do that for their community - maybe they need to rethink why they got into veterinary medicine.
