Ive been thinking about some things and just wanted to share my thoughts (may lose some on this one). Ive been hearing a lot of my generation and even the previous generation (preachers, lay-members, friends, etc.) say things like, We need to have a life outside of church or theres more to life than church. But my question is what do you mean? Are you talking about going to the highways and hedges (outside of the 4 walls of the church) compelling men to come to Jesus, or is it that you want to indulge in activities that we see our world taking part in. We then say we want to be like our forefathers, yet we complain about how long church is or how we need to change certain standards in order to reach a generation. I think weve lost our minds and need to go to the alter and ask God to give it back to us, because this is absurd. Today, I sat at the bedside of one of the oldest mothers of the church that I attend and my god-grams, Mother Arrie Wiggins, and I began to look at her face and I began to wonder what would have happened if she and her brother and sis-n-law, Bishop W.P. and Lady Lula Wiggins, and countless others had decided to conform in order to gain a crowd or be popular or not be deemed as too churchy, where would the ministry God gave them be today. Im not judging anyone and everyone has their own personal journey to travel on, but I am saying that each generation has its very own personal characteristic, but the formula is still preach Jesus. And stop hating on people who want to stay in church or be churchy. While you out freaking, they up praying that God shed grace on you. Im not perfect, but Im too the point that I want to do this and do it the right way, Gods way. #IApproveThisMessage
