Ive been watching The History Channel & scouring the internet pretty much all day today. I dont know what spurred my sudden desire for American history this Independence Day, but Im thankful its so readily available. Huge events changed our country forever, but feel so distant because we werent there. For example, what Pearl Harbor was to my parents generation is what the fall of Saigon and end of the Vietnam War is to my generation, and 9/11 may be to this generation of teens who werent born then. May we never forget.
