Ive been watching that Robotech Classic Collection Vol. One, Ive watched the first disc of Robotech and the first disc of Macross; heres my thoughts on that box set: Its good to have an extra copy of both Robotech and Macross but the quality of the discs are not good at all. There was no attempt of having good disc art or good DVD menus. The disc just has the Robotech logo font on it and plain labeling on it. Even on the Macross discs; it just has the Robotech logo on it. The menus are very bare bone, the back of the box says that with the Macross version theres only the Original Japanese version but if you push the audio button your DVD remote you have access to the ADV films English dub; theres no language set up on the DVD menu. On Episode 4 Lynn Minmay theres no Japanese language available, you only get the ADV films English dub. So far Im not too impressed. It was prepared properly, although I dont regret buying it because just having Macross/Robotech is a good thing! Now theres two good things about this set: If you want to see both series the way they were televised, not remastered, then its good. Also its good to have easy access for comparing both versions.
