Ive changed without a doubt and things that happen reinforce that change. I posted a picture of a father standing at his sons casket and below the picture it shared his journey, I posted this on my personal page. I received private messages from people telling me to hang in there, be strong, depression is a tough thing, etc, etc, etc. I know and understand they were simply messages of support, I get that. What those on the outside dont understand is that Im not depressed, Im stronger than I ever imagined, etc, etc, etc. I dont walk around in a cloud or sit each and every moment buried in regret or tears. What I do on a daily basis is be absolutely honest with myself, life is too short. Living a life on a foundation made of sand is far too dangerous, I see it now, Ive changed. When a day comes and I feel the regret, I honor it. When moments come that try to drag me down, I honor it. I give the memories and emotions a place to come and go. Ive changed without a doubt. Im grateful I understand it better, forever willing to learn, to be an expert in my own grief.
