Ive come to the realization that major sports should be taken completely out of college and placed in a separate minor league setting. I love college football and basketball, but It doesnt take a genius to see what its effect on higher education has done to our society. The NFL and NCAA are 2 of the most corrupt entities in the U.S. The same criminal activity and inappropriate behavior that saturates the NFL was there long before in collegiate sports...it was just covered up better. Which leads me to my next point... NO COLLEGE IN AMERICA SHOULD HAVE ITS OWN POLICE FORCE!!! This is where the cover ups come in. Colleges should be patrolled by police from the local municipality and funded by the college in question. No Law Enforcement entity should ever report directly to the president of a college.Campus cops are supposed to be there for the students, not to protect the financial interest of the college..how do u think the whole Penn State/Jerry Sandusky scandal was kept secret for so long? In closing I think people I hate college. Many believe Im Anti-College. I would not have pursued a degree if that was the case and Im really referring to 4 year traditional colleges. I simply think that we have diluted higher learning with so many unnecessary distractions, its to the point where we are beginning to see no clear distinction between a college-educated individuals and a non college-educated individuals... ...other than the immense debt accumulated in college.
