Ive got to give credit to Facebook for my turning to writing. And to apple for the iPhone and iPad. I hated writing before. Because my hand would cramp up my catching misspelled words after Ive written them. Crossing them out and spelling them correctly kinda anal about that. Then after awhile having to rewrite the whole thing because of chicken scratchings. Or not having paper or pen around when a thought arose. Wanting to insert another thought back a paragraph or two. Facebook helped because I couldnt help myself when I read stupid stuff. So I would write a response, make sure it was interesting and intelligent, dont laugh. Then send it. Getting comments of good thought, well said and or shut the blank up fairly quickly further the discussion and the writing. Openly talking about various subjects also encouraged the engaging of writing because what Facebook? Its not just posting pictures or video clips but writing things make sense or challenges ones thoughts. It also gets people reading. Yeah it gets people to spend to much time on social media but its also informative. Ive learned a lot about a lot of people I barely knew or knee from grade school. I got word of the idiots in France from a Facebook post and I stopped and prayed for those killed. I found out today of several classmates that had passed over the years. Its not all that bad. Ive never read more. The iPhone with all its apps. has helped me keep notes of thoughts, possible invention ideas and grocery lists. I dont even listen to music on it anymore. Its far more than that. So Facebook thanks for encouraging me to write. Right now Im writing a book about my son Lance. Im writing a column on lawn and garden and I bash liberal politics on Facebook all on my phone.
