Ive gotten a few messages about the jingle bell trick for potty training and here is a quick vid of what Abel does now when he has to potty. Now to teach everyone else how to get that far I will explain! Every single time I fed him I waited about 10 mins then I took him out. Before I took him out I walked him to the door, picked up his paw and tapped his paw against the jingle bell attached to a ribbon we had suspended from the door knob that u see in the video and immediately congratulated him, then when he went outside and into the yard he would potty outside and I would congratulate him again before taking him back in. Praise and treats helps. My spoo Abel never took to treats tho so praise was all he got till he was older and we realized he loved being rewarded with play but Im veering off topic now lol back to the bell, I would take his paw and hit the bell and praise him every time we went outside plus when he pottied too, until he picked up on bell=happy mommy. He still uses the bell to this day and hes almost 3yrs old now. Its very effective. The vet I worked for taught his spoo the same technique, its by far my fave potty training technique. By teachin Abel the bell technique he kinda crate trained himself because he associated potty with bell so he knew unless he could get to the bell he couldnt potty. Hope this helps!
