Ive had some time to think, to let it sink in. I think, for a number of us, Robin Williams was a huge part of our childhoods, at least for those who grew up in the 90s. There was, of course, Aladdin. But other movies like Flubber, Jumanji, Fern Gully, Mrs. Doubtfire, Bicentennial Man, and many more. And thats just the stuff we watched as kids. And while some of these movies have not held up, the memories of watching them have. The best ones for me are of the movie Hook. Hook...is my favorite movie of all time. Not just for the plot, the technical aspects, etc.; but for the great memories I have watching the film. And Robin had a huge influence on that. I watch this movie at least once a year. No matter what. And as I hold the DVD in my hands, I regret that I never got to meet him, to have him sign it, to thank him for the great memories. But I know hes in a better place and that the depression that plagued him has finally ended. My favorite quote from the movie (which to be fair, comes from the original play/book) is: To die would be an awfully big adventure. And Im pretty sure hes enjoying every second of it.
