Ive just finished my favorite stretch of teaching physiological - TopicsExpress

Ive just finished my favorite stretch of teaching physiological psychology - eating behavior, salt/water balance, and taste & smell. I get to do some debunking. Today it was saccharin & aspartame fears, gluten sensitivity, and MSG. Previous lecture it was water and salt myths. Simultaneously Im developing the syllabus for a spring course on the psychology of eating. In the last section of the course well do some topics on food myths. I am having them read some of Bruce Ames work on natural vs. synthetic pesticides. I am planning one or two sessions on GMO as well. I found a nice article by Conner & Jacobs (1999) in Mutation Research (see: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10415441) and some nice commentaries by Antony Trewavas in Nature. Any other recommendations? The class is for college seniors with a background in Psychology. I prefer articles or commentaries in peer-reviewed journals, but other source could be appropriate as well.
