Ive known quite a few people in law enforcement. From Beat Cops, to Sheriffs Deputies, to Highway Patrolmen. I even knew a fellow who was with the Secret Service. All of these people were some pretty smart cookies, and were knowledgeable on a wide range of topics. I dont think faulting the individual is the correct thing here. The problem is the Law Enforcement system. As long as the system is willing to pass on someone of higher intelligence for someone just above average, the lack of meaningful communication between Law Enforcement Officers and the general citizenry can only worsen. I dont know if you have noticed, but the problem is worsening.
