Ive listened to the new Garth twice. At first, I was like, eh. Then, I went back through. The first 4 songs are still very average, at best. Just my opinion. Then, the next several songs. These are songs very reminiscent of why I fell in love with country storytelling. All - American Kid is track 4 and a fantastic story. I think it should be the next single. It represents not only fantastic storytelling, but is something missing from country music these days. I rate it a B+. Mom is track 5. It is about the most original song concept I have heard in 20 years. Beautiful message. Very Garth delivery. Love it. A- grade. Rodeo And Juliet is the fiddle heavy, cowboy ditty that the world needs. Friggin love. Love. God bless Chris Ledoux for making Garth Brooks incorporate one of these on every album. A+. People Loving People wasnt a good first single. It was a weaker version of We Shall Be Free, and it killed any potential album sales momentum Garth may have had. But, in an album setting, it is not horrible. C-. I think it is a very good project. I still think No Fences is his best, but will certainly recommend this one. Listen for yourselves. Man Against Machine is available Tuesday.
