Ive lost friends in the line of duty. I came close to losing my life as a mob of almost 30 people descended upon me, if I hadnt followed my training I would have. I was scared Im not gonna lie, many times. However worst night I ever knew is right immediately after a friend of mine had been shot and killed and the helplessness of not being able to reach out to him when he needed help. I got so upset I started vomiting and crying at the same time, I thought my heart was gonna just explode. Hardest funeral I ever attended in my life, fellow officers were grabbing me and crying, it was truly sad. A few years ago my best friend was brutally assualted and hospitalized, that broke my heart because he is a beautiful gentle man that helped me right after my first heart surgery when many what I thought were friends deserted me for fear they might end up like me I guess. I pray everyday for all my friends still on the job and every officer no matter what their field of expertise is, your in danger the moment you put the uniform on and even when you arent wearing it just because you did or do! They arent all bad, there are some very bad officers out there and believe me when I say people who work with them know who they are and keep as good an eye on them as possible. Good officers will stand up for the truth, no matter who it effects!!
