Ive never agreed with body-building. Its just not - TopicsExpress

Ive never agreed with body-building. Its just not practical. The Rock - would be terrible in a survival situation, he would require the same sustenance each day as 3 or 4 Bear Grylls. He would actually be a massive liability, a real white elephant. And what practical function does it have within society? I mean, chances are strong that if you are actually utilizing that strength, you are either defending youre life, taking someone elses or at the gym. In a place like American with modern technology physical strength is not even required to that degree for labourers. So most of the time all of that strength is being used for a negative purpose, doubly so if you consider vanity to be negative. Terrible for war as well, I mean, maybe as shock troops for home defense, that burn out quickly but have great initial impact. The Rock would never have made it as a Spartan warrior. In modern combat he presents a large target, all of that muscle makes first-aid and surgery much harder (as does lots of fat) And he would be impossible to stretcher to safety because he weighs so much. Not practical from a community point of view as the time required to maintain such massive bulk as well as the resources puts the potential gain to the community into the negative. Fortunatly The Rock makes up for this by using his fame to cover expenses and actually giove back for a change (which is the primary reason i like the guy, he doesnt burden anyone else with the cost of his vanity) So really, at the end of the day the only reason for it is vanity. NOTE: Im talkin serious weight-lifting body builders here ala Arnold Swarzenegger when he won his contests, not youre average six-pack laden clothing model or city worker.
