Ive now been hit twice with the 10 Book challenge (Thank u Kimberly Rand Van Munching and Alex Bandon)....The challenge is to list 10 books off the top of your head that have stuck with you. I took the liberty of adding brief comments on some of the significance each book has played. Could have listed 25, easily. Im passing this challenge on to Christian Robinson, Terry Smith (just list all ten youve read), Ricky Grunther, Stephanie Stiles, Kevin McMurtry, and Shawn Ealey McTaggart. If youve already done this, forgive my redundancy. To Build a Fire ....Jack London (short story,Jack London Anthology, man v nature, man loses, 5th grade, big wake up). Chariots of the Gods .....Erich von Daniken (On Grandpas bookshelf, totally opened/blew my mind) The Stand ......Stephen King (Read in 9th grade, after over 800 pages, I wanted more) On the Road ......Jack Kerouac (wanted to be on the road with them, felt there, at times) The Age of Reason ......Thomas Paine (Paine gives his take on religions and reason, I discover a hero) Lord of the Rings.....JRR Tolkien (Tolkiens words, rich and decadent meals, I could have gorged another 3 trilogies) The Mind of God:The Scientific Basis for a Rational World.....Paul Davies (Sated my Virgo need to understand it all.) Low Life....Luc Sante (the dark untold seedy history of New York City)(a gift from Christopher John Maguire) Guns, Germs and Steel.....Jared Diamond (Gained more knowledge from this book above all others, way above)(and it was fun reading) The Last Stand.....Nathaniel Philbrick (Custers massacre rocked post Civil War America to the core, an era I feel I know)
