Ive previously mentioned my current favorite podcast, The History - TopicsExpress

Ive previously mentioned my current favorite podcast, The History of English, which is I find extremely interesting. Because the podcast is so incredibly thorough in its relating of the development of English (it begins with the Proto-Indo-European language - spoken roughly 5.5 thousand years ago - and finally gets to the Anglo-Saxon roots of Old English 32 episodes in), it may be a bit too daunting for many people to be interested in listening to it in part or in whole. I did, however, recently find YouTube videos of the documentary that really peaked my interest in the history of English. Its called Adventures in English, and I initially stumbled upon it about seven years ago when it was airing on Sundays at 5am on the History Channel. There are very few reasons good enough to convince me to wake up that early, but this documentary series intrigued me so much that I happily rolled my ass outta bed like clockwork for the two months that it was airing. So, here it is, the YouTube link for part on of Adventures in English: Birth of a Language. I highly recommend checking it out; it is interesting as hell, it will reveal the origins of the words you use every day and it will broaden your appreciation for the precision & nuance English is capable of - by extension it very well might level up your language skill as well as add at least a +2 to eloquence. So, dig it, yo! https://m.youtube/watch?list=PLLOg1X5K0gWJwMNrR08u2pSq3kj3DtFMj&v=z2I7x-MxP-A
