Ive read two of my summer books - both very good, though very different. Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn (author of Gone Girl) is the story of a journalist who reluctantly returns to her hometown (and dysfunctional home) to report on serial killings of children. Its a dark, uncomfortable page-turner. In complete contrast, Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella is the light, funny tale of a woman who gets over a terrible breakup by immediately marrying an ex. Though Kinsella always writes great bumbling heroines, her Shopaholic books are even better than this one. And theres my literature update! Happy Canada Day, everyone!
