Ive seen a lot of people posting this video on their Facebook feeds recently. Which is somewhat ironic, but thats besides the point. I would just like to say that no, technology does not make us anti-social. We make us anti-social. Technology is simply a tool, and its societal influences are double-sided. It can make us either more or less social, it is entirely our choice. People are no different now than they have ever been; the last generation was no better than this generation. We are very alike people, with different tools, adapting to a different world. Besides, technology has brought beautiful things into everyones lives. A lot of my relationships would never have fully flowered without the ability to communicate when we werent physically together. Not to mention technological advances outside of communication such as medical, or educational. To pretend that technology has turned the entire human race into simple-minded apes whose thoughts are always on their next Tweet or Instagram post is irrational and ignorant.
