Ive seen several articles floating around the internet as of late trying to prove the Norse gods were nothing more than magicians from Asia who migrated to Northern Europe and fooled the locals into thinking they were Gods. They throw what they think to be little known facts out to a general audience to and persuade some that our gods are just con artists set to rule a primitive people and succeeded. The truth is..these are not little known facts. Most evidence shows up that the earliest known records of the gods shows them traveling to Northern Europe from the east but that doesnt prove they are actually from the east. That is the area they were in when they decided to migrate west where Odin decided to establish himself as the first king of Sweden. He was succeeded by Nijord who was succeeded by Frey. Theres more to it than that but that is it in a nut shell for right now. In his mortal form, Odin was a master of war and magic and was able to do things no other man could...while in mortal form, Odin didnt just decide to con people into thinking he was a god...by all accounts, he shown himself to actually be a god. I know this to be true because even simple magicians were not said to be capable of the great things the Aesir could do. Im working to dig as far back as logic will let me to see how our gods have evolved as they have through oral traditions right down to archeology. As the heathen faith grows, you will find people trying to convince you the gods you have faith in are just fiction...Ive read much and most of the time with an objective eye as the All Father would expect me to do...and I not scene any proof that the gods were just really good con artists...most of it seems the exact opposite.
