Ive spent most of the day either on line or on the telephone with care providers and insurance company representatives. I wonder if I could get something.....like a Fort Sanders Frequent Flyer Card, with my bonus points added. Every hundred points, you get gee a free colonoscopy ! Just kidding, but the world of healthcare necessarily runs on paper, or computer work. One very nice nurse at Fort Sanders was on the phone for nearly an hour, getting my background information, and then what to do Monday morning. One of the most frequent questions is Are you in pain? Since my back is so lame, the answer is usually, Yes. But its hard to tell the source gf the discomfort, since Ive never had liver problems, etc. Dread? A little fear? I be crazy if there wasnt. Confident in Gods Promises through Christ? Yes. But it doesnt keep from things happening that show you are a little rattled....like shaking too hard to tie your shoes before you go to the doctor. Or wake-ups in the middle of the night with one concern or the other. Who wants to know they are about to be weakened and sickened in order to make them well? But I switch on the light, pick up one of my bedside books and read about aviation history or something, or go back from earlier in the evening at one of my Bibles, try to work it out, and try to fall asleep again. Its flu shot tomorrow......so if you see a portly Irish-German running away from a drug store--- thatd be me
