Ive talked with 100s of moms these past 7 months. The number one problem that stands out is lack of ENERGY. If youve convinced yourself that you have absolutely NO time to work out, that dense nutrition or nutrient dense supplements arent for you, or you cant possibly eat dark green leafy vegetables / give up sugar: Here are a few quick things that are either free or low cost that you CAN do while youre coming up with a way to make dense nutrition / fitness part of your lifestyle: 1. Chia Seeds * healthy source of fat * measure these little things carefully - they pack a punch * all around superfood 2. Citrus or Peppermint Essential Oil * aromatherapy CAN impact your energy levels * if you cant afford a premium essential oil, save your orange peels and simmer in a small pot on the stove 3. 10 Minute Dance * just pick 4 upbeat songs that you love - turn up the volume and dance around your living room until all 4 songs have played * this increases your heart rate and doesnt last long enough to cause exhaustion 4. Banana * replace just ONE of the things you reach for to get your sugar fix with a banana * add 1 tblsp peanut butter (the good kind) and drizzle a little bit of honey on top 5. Self Esteem * moms are ALWAYS comparing & contrasting their mom-abilities with other moms. Thats ok. It can serve us well. It becomes a problem when it devours our energy. * make a list of (5) things that youre grateful for or proud of yourself for achieving * when you see fellow moms sharing their highlight reels, give yourself permission to use empathy in new ways and share in their success (knowing that there isnt a single one of us who has every single area of our life fully dialed in or perfected). There are SO many options. There are lots of blogs and articles you can find online. Read and TRY the ones that speak to you! Its also important to tell moms the truth... Dense nutrition & moderate fitness are essential to lasting energy and good health. I didnt want to hear this before... I never had enough energy to face all the changes Id need to make. Regardless of where you are at this moment or where you want to be, youre doing a GREAT job :) Youre worthwhile without any proof.
