Ive written a lot of the the TPP (Transpacific Trade Partnership) and why I am against it. Todays news of the President being in China to persuade them to join confirms my worst fears. The TPP has been negotiated by our government in largely in secret, not covered by the mainstream media, or discussed openly. The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP or TPPA), a global trade agreement being secretly negotiated by 600+ multinational corporations and industry trade groups, will affect nearly every aspect of Americans’ lives. It has been referred to as NAFTA on steroids. If passed, it will undermine state, local and federal laws, including those governing food safety, environmental protection, internet freedom, worker rights, democratic sovereignty, healthcare and drug prices, and banking and finance regulation. In short, everything this country has worked for to try to create a fairer and more perfect union. This will be a disaster for public health and safety, future sustainability of the world’s food supply and basic democratic principles. We will lose our sovereignty as a nation. If the TPP, along with the TTIP (Europe) go through, the world will be carved up into economic zones with corporate rules supplanting national laws. Welcome to the New World Order.
