Ive written editorials and have preached the unrecognized fact that skilled trade Unions, not just us but all of the skilled trades, are more conservative that any group you can find. We have our own democratic society ( small D ), our own business managers and leaders, our own trade schools, where we recruit and train the finest applicants we can find, our own, self financed health system, our own self financed retirement system and even our own unemployment system, SASMI. Did I leave anything out ? This is all done out of our pockets, with no government aid. The repugnicants fool the public by including us in with the massive Unions that depend on quantity rather than quality. We should try to educate the public on this angle rather than throw bombs at the repugnicants. Add the fact that our Union is a legitimate business just like any other, deserving of the respect that it commands and if our business plan fails then we must close our doors. The truth always prevails !
