Izmir, Turkey is where the biblical city of Smyrna was located. It was one of the principal cities of Roman Asia, and vied with Ephesus and Pergamum for the title First City of Asia. A Christian church existed there and was probably started by Paul on one of his missionary journeys. It was one of the seven churches addressed in the 2nd chapter of the Revelation. Only Sunday, we will focus on that church in our Revelation series. We meet in the Tuscany Falls Sienna Room at 8:30 am.
