I’m not expecting to have to do much in the way of acclimatisation to adjust to the difference between Oz in late winter to England in late summer. However, I will have to gird my loins and guard any SAD-ness (seasonal affective disorder) arising from working through two successive winters. There’s a distinctive and unfortunate correlation between living in the most northerly latitudes and the suicide rate. That’s a cheery note on which to bid the southern hemisphere farewell. I wonder if I could get the NHS to contribute towards a winter holiday in the Bahamas. This song is about as literal as I get.
