I’m very happy to hear South L.A.’s Central Avenue has been included in Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Great Streets Initiative! For those not familiar with Central Avenue, the street is a key thoroughfare in the Historic South Central neighborhood, and is home to L.A.’s Historic Jazz Corridor, the Lincoln Theater, the Dunbar Hotel, and other local landmarks. The Great Streets Initiative will foster community and business development along Central Avenue between MLK Boulevard and Vernon Avenue, and will make the street more hospitable to bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
