I’ve heard other reports quoting up to $80m in aid to settle 100 refugees in #Cambodia... Thats between $400,000 to $800,00 per refugee! Surely it would be far cheaper, not to mention far more ethical given AusAID (now DFAT)s track record of aid and development in Cambodia to settle these refugees in Australia, find them housing, provide them with some vocational training and let them become productive members of our community? I doubt that will cost anywhere near $400,000 per refugee! and they will receive the benefit directly, instead of some high ranking Cambodian Government official getting pocketing all the aid money! I am sure there are some very smart people working in government and #auspol... Help me out here, I really cant figure this logic out!
