J&K TEACHER’S FORUM UP WITH ARMS AGAINST EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR NON-PAYMENT OF SALARY TO SSA HEAD TEACHERS, TEACHERS AND RETs. In an extra ordinary session of J&K Teachers Forum held at Central Office with Mr. Ab. QayoomWani (Chairman) in chair. The leaders expressed great dismay and displeasure over the non-payment of salary to RETs, teachers and others having funds from SSA Scheme. The non-payment of salary ranging from 3 to 7 months has put the teachers to heavy debts and such deliberate delay was termed as gross violation of Human rights asthe family of such teachers have reached to starvation and thin wards face humiliation for non-payment of fee and school dues. It was felt that the people atthe later of affairs are non serioustowards the issues and this negligence and non-seriousness has resulted in utter trouble of teachers. Despite repeated requests made to officers concerned, have resulted in nothing substantial till date. The over all forestration caused to those teachers and their families has forced to stage a massive peaceful protest demonstration atDirtectorate of School Education Kashmir on 15th June 2012. The Chairman and Senior Leader JCC and President EJAC Mr. Ab. Qayoom Wani has warned the officers at the helm of affairs to desist from such practices which compel the teachers to come on roads and urged the government to take immediate steps to releasethe salary of all these teachers whose pay is still undrawn and unpaid. The leaders impressed deep anguish for the stackness and apathy of officers who do nottake the issues of teaching community seriously and cause harm to the community by their acts, it is these acts that have plunged these teachers to a sorry state for none of their faults. It was urged that the governmentshall understand the gravity of theissue and the pay of these teachers be released and paid to them at the earliest besides the other issues raised by the organization from time to time viz; inclusion of rendered service of 5 years and 7 years in favour ofRETs, migrant substitute teachers, contractuals, adhocs, suitable posting of Masters, Head Masters and Lecturers, transfer policy for RETs. The leaders who participated in the session include:- Syed Aftab Ahmad Indrabi, Ghulam Rasool Bhat, Syed Sajad Hussain, Mohammad Afzal Bhat, Mohammd Mubarak Khan and others.
