JANUARY PRAYER GUIDE JANUARY 23 – Read John 4:28-34. As Jesus is in the world so are we to be. Here Jesus gives his disciples – including us – the recipe for a ‘full’ life. ‘My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work.’ Wow – so much in that statement. First it tells/reminds us that the Father is in this entire thing – there is a work He started (at creation) and He is not stopping until the job is complete. Jesus comes and shows and tells us how to live and what this ‘work’ (and ‘hearty meal’) is – to participate in the gathering. It is harvest time. Pray about that today – ask the Holy Spirit to ‘open your eyes and look at the fields!’ Ask the Spirit to help you live with the incredible gratitude and also real sense of responsibility that we have been placed here at the end of a lot of sowing, tilling, weeding, etc. to enjoy the privilege and share in the benefits and wonder of sharing in the harvesting.
