JATA has provided a digital X-ray which can be used even in time of disaster. Therefore, even if there’s a blackout, it will still work for several hours in Pea Rain Referral Hospital (RH) for taking Chest X-ray (CXR). JATA also held its first workshop for radiography technicians led by a Japanese expert for strengthening their capability for how to take a good quality of CXR film.. First, the Japanese expert checked their technical knowledge before starting the workshop. Then he taught them 6 important factors of taking chest X-ray. On that 3-day workshop, they focused on 3 things: Density, Contrast and Sharpness. These things directly affect the digital film for reading X-ray results and so they really need to grasp the knowledge and skills for this. During workshop and OJT, they learned important many things and they discussed these among themselves. They have applied what they learned by carefully checking the density, contrast and sharpness of the X-ray result. After this workshop, their post test showed a big improvement compared to the test they took before the workshop. It is very important to keep these technicians motivated and so JATA supported them through this project. プロジェクト開始時、JATAは活動拠点であるピアレン医療圏にあるピアレンリファラル病院へ結核診断に必要なデジタルエックス線装置を提供しました。これは災害時にも使用できる、バッテリー式モバイル機のため、停電の多いピアレン地域でも利便性が高いと言えます。提供時、日本人専門家の放射線技師により、また今回はフォローアップのために現地放射線技師に対して技術研修を実施しています。 研修開始前、ピアレンリファラル病院の放射線技師による撮影状況を確認し、その後、撮影時に確認する6つの要素について講義しました。中でも、特に読影に直接の影響がでる濃度・コントラスト・鮮鋭度に焦点をあて説明しています。 講義、OJT研修の3日間、彼らは知識・技術面で大切なことを学び、意見交換ができています。それら成果として、重点課題である3つの要素に注意してエックス線撮影を実施できており、画像が鮮明となることで読影が容易となりました。また、研修前後で実施したテストの結果を比較しても成長が著しく見られました。彼らの知識、技術向上が維持できるように今後もフォローアップを予定しています。
