JESUS DEVOTION (15\12\14) THEME: CHRISTMAS MESSAGES ( THE MESSAGE OF HOPE ) TEXT：For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isa 9:6 Why message of hope? Comparing verse 2 and 6,The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light, and they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them the light shined. then verse 6 starts, for unto us its a conjunction the word for, so it readsthey have found light, why? For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Though this scriptures had an immediate fulfillment talking about the people of Isreal, who through their disobedience received the consequences of their sins; being sent to exile; the Land of Zebulun and Naphtali(nothern kingdom) was in total darkness, they were in the hands of their enemies, but at that time of Gods wrath, total darkness, hopelessness, a message came but this time it was a message of hope, that though right now this lands dwell in total darkness, and dwelling in the land of the shadow of death, listen, this is what the Lord says the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light.1:Because their enemies had been defeated. 2: Above all, A Child(saviour) has been born, a son is given. But in all, this message of hope had a future fulfillment, talking about the whole human race, that though we were lost, alienated from God, and we are in total darkness we must rejoice, because For God so loved the world, that He GAVE His only son( a son is given), that whoever believes in Him, will not perish but have everlasting life. Are you hopeless, thinking all is lost,are you in darkness(sin), Then hear the word of the Lord of hostthat The great light has appeared, And shining all over the world, This light never grows dim; for the light Shines always. Who is this Light? Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.John 8:12. Jesus, He is the Light of the world. He is the reason for creation and the reason for the season. Dont waste your life in darkness, Let Jesus in, and His presence will enlighten and illuminate your life and your whole life will be full of light, Joy, Hope, and peace. And also remember,Rom 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
