JEWISH SOULS We had dinner with the Rabbi, A charming and a learned man. We had talked about the convert. I heard him pause and then assert “Conversion was never God’s plan. Souls cannot change until they die. A Jewish soul will often roam. Conversion will let her come home”. I listened to him carefully. He’d thought about these things before. He thought the soul could not be changed Although through different lives it ranged. Those are ideas I can’t ignore, Although I see things differently. The soul is part of the divine. Religion does not draw the line. I can but guess about God’s plan, As souls are sent amongst mankind. There are no different kinds of soul. There are just fragments of the whole. A Jewish soul, you will not find. All are the same the Soul of man. Jewish experiences, maybe In some lives they live differently. A Jewish life, success and pain Is something which the soul may live So that it fully understands Her future role, safe in HIS hands. Learn to endure and to forgive. It passes you will live again. Each life is different. Come to know. Each soul is here to learn and grow.
