JFK was 46 when he was assassinated. He would have been 96 this year had he lived. I was 5 years old when he died. I remember watching the funeral on tv with my mother, grandmother, aunts and cousins at my Aunt May FitzGeralds house on Nehoiden St in Needham. I remember so clear everyone crying. I asked if the funeral procession was going to go by Aunt Mays house because the Memorial Day parade always went past her house and onto Needham Cemetary for Memorial Day ceremonies. I thought his funeral looked just like the parade, Pretty much all of my life when ever I see footage of him, hear a speech that he gave or visit places that he visited I wonder how this world would be now had he lived......it also brings tears to my eyes and a great sense of loss comes over me to this day as it has over the last 50 years. One of my favorite quotes is from the speech he made when he visited Ireland and this I leave you with: This is an extraordinary country. George Bernard Shaw, speaking as an Irishman, summed up an approach to life: Other people, he said, see things and... say: Why? ... But I dream things that never were-and I say: Why not?
