JOB Chap. 13 cont. – TERESA’S EASY RENDITION 15 Even if He’ll kill me, wouldn’t I wait? I just have to state my case before Him. 16 Perhaps He’ll spare me, for no wicked would dare to face Him. 17 Listen first to what I have to say, and give ear to my explanation. 18 Please let me present my case. I’m sure I’m in the right. 19 Who’s going to accuse me? If now I were to remain silent, I’ll simply die! 20 Just don’t do 2 things to me, and I’ll not hide from You. 21 Withdraw Your hand away from me, and don’t frighten me with Your terrors. 22 Either You speak first and I answer, or I speak first and You answer. 23 What wrongs and sins have I committed? Show me my offense and sin. 24 Why do you hide Your face and regard me as Your enemy? 25 Will You torture a mere wind-blown leaf, or chase after a dry straw? 26 For You’re accusing me of bitter charges, punishing me for the blunders of my youth. 27 You fasten my feet in shackles, and watch my every step, putting a demarcation line for the soles of my feet. 28 (Man is) Like something rotten and decaying, like a garment that’s moth-eaten.
