JOB FAIRS FOR VETERANS Waubonsee Community Colleges downtown Aurora Campus will be the destination of choice for job seekers in the region, when the college hosts its Fall Job Fair on Friday, Sept. 19 from 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room and Library at Waubonsees Aurora Campus, 18 S. River St. To help job seekers prepare, Waubonsee also will offer free Career Information sessions at the Aurora Public Library, 1 E. Benton St., on Monday, Sept. 15, from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. One-on-one appointments are also available through Waubonsees Career Services Department. For more information, contact Waubonsees Career Services Department at (630) 466-7900 ext. 2368 Veterans Alliance of Joliet Junior College, AllenForce, Laurus Foundation/Healer Warrior and Michelle Kukla, a doctor of psychology from the Healthy Living Counseling Center in Palatine are teaming up in coordination of a large scale event for trauma survivors. This workshop is to help promote the range of treatment modalities available for trauma recovery for both military and non-military individuals. The wellness fair is available for military and non-military trauma survivors. The empowerment workshops are targeted for educating individuals about the treatment options available to help trauma recovery and personal growth. October 18th is the date of the event and the time is 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Joliet Junior College and the Veterans Alliance are co-hosting. The event will focus on the following three target populations: 1. Veterans and Families in Need of these services. 2. Public/civilians in need of these services. 3. Practitioners in need of learning how to serve veterans and their families within their profession and talents.
