JOB: Senior Features Editor, Community Team, Instagram https://facebook/careers/department?req=a0IA000000G2R3LMAV LocationMenlo Park, CA In just over three years, the Instagram community has grown to over 200 million and we are now looking for a passionate Senior Features Editor to join the Community team. The Instagram Senior Features Editor is responsible for developing, writing and editing feature stories for our curated editorial channels. The Senior Features Editor will manage contributing writers for all of Instagrams editorial channels and be responsible for overseeing the style of our written storytelling about the Instagram community for the Instagram community audience. Responsibilities Work closely with the Editorial Lead to develop and execute content series that amplify the diverse voices of the Instagram community through best-in-class storytelling Ensure that individual voices and unique points of view shine, but that the style of all prose speaks to the spirit and essence of the Instagram community teams mission to inspire creativity Develop a roster of best-in-class professional relationships within the narrative community on Instagram and work directly with an eclectic mix of guest contributors from within the Instagram community Work closely with the Editorial Lead to ensure that the visual curation, copy quality and design are thoughtful, well-crafted and uphold the high standards of the unique Instagram community audience Monitor and curate editorial trends in the news and features space to inform the evolution of Instagrams editorial channels Foster emerging storyteller skills amongst the team through mentorship of community managers responsible for writing features. Requirements BA or equivalent degree 8+ years experience as a journalist for a reputable global editorial publication, writing feature stories to accompany editorial photo essays 8+ years editing feature essays of established writers from a varied stylistic and content base of contributors, for a singular voice publication destined for a global audience Writing and editing portfolio required.
